Showcasing the Seeds vs. the Flowers: Why Your Creative Brand Feels All Over the Place

Are You Confusing Your Audience Without Realizing It?

Most creatives do this without even knowing it—they keep showing people the seeds instead of the flowers.

You start a project, learn a new skill, get an exciting idea—and instead of fully developing it, you immediately share it. The result?

🚨 Your audience has no idea what you actually do.
🚨 Your messaging feels scattered.
🚨 You feel like you’re constantly starting over instead of building momentum.

Sound familiar? Let’s fix that.

The Fix: Stop "Showcasing the Seeds"

If you had a garden and invited someone over, would you dig up tiny sprouts to show them? Or would you let them admire the fully bloomed flowers?

Most creatives keep sharing half-formed ideas—seeds that aren’t ready yet. This leads to an audience that’s confused, content that doesn’t convert, and a business that never quite takes off.

The solution? A clear strategy.

How I Fell Into This Trap (And Lost People Along the Way)

As creative tools have became more accessible and inexpensive—what used to cost thousands is now at our fingertips—this caused me to go apeshit.

I wanted to try everything. Graphic design, web design, UX, digital illustration—you name it. But the mistake I made? I showcased my experiments on my yoga business social media.

🚨 It confused the hell out of people. My audience had no idea what I actually did, and I lost followers along the way.

As someone who naturally associates a lot of different ideas together, I struggled to see what “focus” really looked like. And now that I’m working with a coach myself, I see it even more clearly—what I thought was one content pillar was actually three completely separate branches of business.

💡 If you’re a multi-passionate creative who struggles to narrow your focus, you’re not alone. That’s exactly where an accountability partner comes in. Having someone who can help you step back, organize your ideas, and create a clear strategy makes all the difference.

What I Learned About Focus and Execution.

For years, I kept thinking that if I just kept going, something would eventually click. I had the skills. I had the drive. I even had the business sense. But I was stuck in a cycle—doing the same things over and over, expecting a different result.

What I should have been doing was asking better questions:

  • What’s not working?

  • Where’s the disconnect?

  • What do I actually need to move forward?

But instead, I kept pushing—hoping clarity would just appear. Spoiler alert: it didn’t.

And then something shifted.

One of my clients—a successful creative business coach—became a mirror for what I was missing. We started working together, and within a couple of sessions, I realized:
This was the piece I had been missing all along—structured accountability.

I remember sitting between sessions, feeling overwhelmed by the sheer amount of work it would take to reset my business. But instead of spiraling, I reminded myself:
“I have a coach. I can write these questions down. I don’t have to untangle this alone.”

That’s the magic.
Sometimes you don’t need another course or strategy—you just need someone to sit in the mental trenches with you and help you unravel the web.

And once I experienced that shift, it hit me hard:
If I struggled with this for so long, how many other creatives are still out there trying to do it all alone?

I knew I had to offer this same kind of support.
Not as a guru.
Not as someone who claims to have all the answers.
But as someone who’s walked through the mess, figured it out, and is now ready to walk beside others.
